Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education received the citizens residing in Agsu, Ismayilli, Shamakhi and Gobustan regions on May 12 in Children's Creative Center in Agsu.

Citizens appealed basicly on recruitment of the teachers or displacement of work place from one school to other one, also from region to other one, restoration to work, recognition of education documents, transfer of students of the higher and secondary specialized schools from one educational institution to another, study fee and other questions in reception, held according to reception schedule of the leaders of central executive power bodies for May, 2015 in the towns and regions. Appeals of 47 citizens were listened in reception and most of problems were settled just on the spot. The instructions, related to a number of appeals, were given to the relevant bodies of the Ministry. Appeals of several citizens that have personal character and aren’t inside of Ministry’ power, were recorded and controlled for delivery in relevant authorities.

Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Education, signed a decree on "the organization and implementation of Examination session".

According to the order, it was decided to commence The Spring Semester 2015 Examination Session on 11 May 2015 and to end on 31 May 2015 in higher education institutions located in the capital in connection with the First European Games in Baku in 2015.   The Order of Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Republic on "the organization and implementation of Examination session".

On May 12, the opening ceremony of "Museum Week for schoolchildren - Museums and Ecology" program was held at the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan.

Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Education, Sevda Mammadaliyeva, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Samir Nuriyev, director of Administration of the State historical-architectural reserve “Icheri Sheher”, Gunay Afandiyeva, First Secretary of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, teachers of secondary schools and students attended the ceremony. It was reported that the Ministry of Education was implementing the "Museum Week for schoolchildren - Museums and Ecology" program with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO from May 12 to 18. The program will cover 15 museums operating in Baku. The purpose of the program is to familiarize students with the sustainable development concept, environmental and ethnographic aspects of collections fund of museums. During familiarization, special attention will be paid to the eco-ethnographic relations and the relationship between the man and the environment will be studied in paintings included in collections fund of museums. The special interactive routes were assigned and the environmental themes were chosen by methodologists of the Republican Ecological Training and Experience Center for a new program. After the official opening, schoolchildren got acquainted with expositions at the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan. It should be noted that every year the International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18. The year 2015 was declared the year of "Museums and sustainable development of society" by the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

Produced with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the documentary “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil” was featured in the general education schools of the capital.

The head of the project dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism is Arzu Aliyeva. The film was produced jointly with the Baku Media Center and “Clarke Costelle&Co” (CC&C) production company of France. The purpose of demonstrating the film in the general education schools is to keep alive the heroism history of Azerbaijan and to pass history to the younger generation. The film is a manifestation of deep respect and reverence for the memory of all people, felt the pain of war and contributed to the victory over fascism with their hard work at front and rear. The studies were carried out in Azerbaijan, Germany, USA, Great Britain, France and Russia within the framework of the documentary “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil” and the sequences, that were not displayed so far, were restored and presented in color format. It should be noted that the film, translated into more than 10 languages, will be broadcasted through "National Geographic" channel in nearly 30 countries from 8 to 10 May. The film is expected to be followed by nearly 50 million spectators. According to experts, all the nations of the world will receive comprehensive and objective information about the role of Azerbaijani people and Baku oil in securing the victory over fascism through this film.

We continue to introduce the athletes, who will take part in the first European Games, from sports schools operating under the Ministry of Education.

24 of athletes, who will represent our country at the First European Games, are the graduates of children and youth sports schools operating under the Ministry of Education and the coach-teachers working in these schools. They will compete in 7 sports (athletics, acrobatic gymnastics, badminton, fencing, sambo, freestyle wrestling, table tennis). Tofig Mammadov is the graduate of the Republic Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Sports School no.1 of “Təhsil” Republic Sports Center. T.Mammadov, the five-time champion in the shot put, entered the top ten in the European Championship. Ismayil Aliyev is the graduate of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Athletics School no.5 of Baku. I.Aliyev, engaged in the shot put, won 2nd place in Azerbaijan Championship and 3rd place in Cup of Azerbaijan.  Alyona Setina is engaged in athletics. A.Setina, the participant of Azerbaijan and Baku championships, is the graduate of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Athletics School no.5 of Baku. Yekaterina Sariyeva is the graduate of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Athletics School no.5 of Baku. Y.Sariyeva, engaged in triple long jump, is the gold medalist of the Islamic Games and the silver medalist of the European tournament. She is a student of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Training and Sports. Aynur Huseynova is the graduate of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Gymnastics School of the Ministry of Education. A.Huseynova, studying at Baku Pedagogical College, is engaged in acrobatic gymnastics. She is the winner of the Republican Championship and the bronze medalist of the international tournament, held in Minsk. She also won 5th place in the European Championship.

On May 8, the Ministry of Education organized a blood donation campaign in full secondary school no. 202 of Baku city.

The employees of the Ministry actively participated in the campaign, held on the occasion of International Thalassemia Day – the 8th of May. During the campaign, doctors-gematologs of the mobile medical team of Central Blood Bank of Scientific Research Institute of Gematology and Blood Transfusion named after Bahadur Eyvazov checked the health status of donors and hereinafter, took blood in the appropriate order. The collected blood samples will be examined in the laboratory and will be included in Central Blood Bank in order to use in the treatment of patients with inherited blood disorders. The campaign was organized to support measures taken for the implementation of the State Program "Take care of children suffering from hemophilia and thalassemia" approved by the appropriate Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

The 32nd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO 2015) was held in Athens, Greece, from 3rd of May to 8th of May 2015.

Azerbaijani schoolchildren participated at the Olympiad, attended by 130 pupils from 21 different countries, including England, Italy, Iran, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and others. 3 pupils among Azerbaijani schoolchildren won a bronze medal and one of them took the stimulating place in mathematics at the Olympiad. Thus, Mohammad Shirinov, 10th grade student from Baku, Ismat Agayev, 11th grade student from Guba, and Tahir Nadirov, 10th grade student from Guba, were awarded the bronze medal, Mirali Ahmadli, 9th grade student from Ganja, was awarded the incentive certificate at the Olympiad. According to information provided by the team leader Fuad Garayev, the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad praised the performance of our students and expressed congratulations and kind words, addressed to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It should be noted that students-candidates, who will participate in the 56th International Mathematical Olympiad in the second half of May, will be selected among the distinguished students in the final stage of the Republican subject Olympiads and training camp began with candidate team in May and June.

The Ministry of Education continues the massive sporting events, dedicated to the promotion of 14 kinds of sports, included in the program of the Baku 2015 First European Games, among schoolchildren.

Within the framework of these events, the zonal volleyball competition was held in Astara region. The teams from Astara, Lankaran, Masalli, Yardimli, Lerik, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Salyan and Jabrail districts competed for the first place in the zonal competition, held at Astara Olympic Sports Complex. The teams of Lankaran, Salyan and Astara regions won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. Another sporting event took place in Yevlakh region. The zonal basketball competition among schoolchildren was held in Yevlakh. The teams from Yevlakh, Barda, Agdam, Shamkir, Tovuz, Goygol regions and Ganja city attended the competition. The teams of Ganja, Goygol and Yevlakh won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. The zonal taekwondo competition was held in Agjabadi district. Nearly 100 boys and girls from Agjabadi, Saatli, Beylagan, Lachin, Khojavand, Ujar, Imishli regions competed in the weight category 29-59 kg. in the competition, held at the Regional Taekwondo Center in Agjabadi. The teams of Agjabadi, Zardab and Ujar districts won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. Athletes competed in 5 weight categories in both styles of wrestling in the wrestling competition, held at Khachmaz Olympic Sports Complex. Nearly 150 wrestlers from Khachmaz, Guba, Gusar, Shabran, Khizi, Siyazan, Gobustan, Absheron, Gubadly districts and Sumgait city joined the fight for the title of winner. The teams of Khachmaz, Absheron and Siyazan won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. The representatives of the Ministry of Education, local executive bodies and sports community attended the opening ceremony of the competitions. The winners were awarded with diplomas and medals of the Ministry of Education. It should be noted that these competitions are held in 14 kinds of sports (cycling, volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, karate, wrestling, beach soccer, judo, boxing, basketball, badminton, track and field athletics, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics) included in the program of the Baku 2015 First European Olympic Games. The Job Fair entitled "Young specialist", organized by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan ("AmCham Azerbaijan"), “British American Tobacco” company and with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, will be held at Haydar Aliyev Center on May 23.

The job fair was held within the framework of measures aimed at involving talented students, studying at various universities of Azerbaijan, in practice in the leading companies of the country, as well as at expanding their employment opportunities. It should be noted that registration of students, who will participate in the fair, ended on May 1. More than 2700 graduates from 41 higher education institutions and about 60 international and local companies (as the employer) registered to participate in the job fair. The peculiarity of the job fair, to be held annually, is that business representatives are informed about the candidates before the fair and the candidates meet with representatives of a particular company on the day of the event. After the completion of the registration for students, the employers-companies get acquainted with the students' information and the most suitable candidates are invited for an interview during the period stipulated by the fair.  We bring to the attention of the registered students that the letter of invitation will be sent to the email address provided during registration. The candidates, invited for an interview by the relevant companies, are requested to come to the Heydar Aliyev Center with the identity document on job fair day.

In the artistic part of the event, the athletes, dance groups demonstrated exemplary performances and the musical concert was organized. The team from Ganja won 1st and 3rd places and the team from Samukh region took 2nd place among girls in team score. The teams of Ganja city, Samukh and Dashkasan regions won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively among boys in team score. Another sporting event was held at the base of the Ganja branch of the Republican Sports Center "Tehsil". More than 100 athletes, representing Tovuz, Shamkir, Gazakh, Gadabay, Goranboy, Goygol, Samukh, Barda, Dashkasan regions and Ganja city, competed in the zonal athletics competition. The teams of Ganja city, Barda and Shamkir regions won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. The representatives of the Ministry of Education, local executive bodies and sports community attended the opening ceremony of the competitions. The winners were awarded with diplomas and medals of the Ministry of Education.
