SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Since October 2013 the subjects such as Azerbaijani language, history and culture included to the tuition programme of the University of Warsaw, the most influential university of Poland.
Shahla Kazimova, Azerbaijanian in nationality, Ph.D. in the University of Warsaw, chairman of Azerbaijani Cultural Centre Society founded in Poland, will teach these subjects. Although the subjects related with Azerbaijan have been recently included to the program, the number of students registered for the classes has been more than the expected.
Official presentation of this educational project, financed by Azerbaijan side and emerged as a result of negotiations held between Embassy to Poland and top management of the University of Warsaw, has been organized in the University of Warsaw in October 11. At the event the ambassador Hasan Hasanov met with the students who chose the subjects related with Azerbaijan Studies and made a broad speech.
The diplomat spoke about care given in the recent years to the development of culture in our country under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, large-scale international and regional projects in progress, economic successes achieved. He noted that the leader of our state considers the defense of national interests and benefits as a primary goal and pursue relevant reasonable policy. Hasan Hasanov emphasized the important role of Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan and president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in reserving national and cultural heritage of Azerbaijani people and keep it for further generations, world-wide promotion of our culture, renovation and protection of historical monuments not only in Azerbaijan, but also in everywhere of the world . The ambassador gave broad information also on Azerbaijani history, literature, ancient epos, carpet weaving, music, architecture art, cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Poland. Besides, the ambassador responded to the students’ questions relating with tourism in Azerbaijan, cinema, cuisine, ancient monuments.
At the end, the students were granted with the books published in Polish language by Embassy.
