SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
On September 14, Education Minister Misir Mardanov met with a delegation led by EU Representative for the South Caucasus Mr. Philippe Lefort.
Education Minister Misir Mardanov welcomed the guests and noted the importance of relationship between Azerbaijan and the European Union. He also underlined an importance of educational projects within the bilateral relations. The Minister gave information on works implemented in cooperation with the EU within Tempus, Erasmus-Mundus, TAIEX programs and Twinning project in the education field. Noting Azerbaijan has joined the Bologna process, the Minister underlined the country has taken important steps to integrate into European Education System.
The EU Representative for the South Caucasus Mr. Philippe Lefort thanked Minister Mardanov for the warm welcome. He highly praised the integration of Azeri education system into European Higher Education Area in terms of the development of bilateral relations and practice exchange. Mr. Lefort stressed an important role of education field in the expansion of relationships between Azerbaijan and the EU and underlined a value of educational ties to reach a peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.
At the meeting, the sides also discussed achievements in educational projects jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and the EU and exchanged views on other issues of common interest.
