SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Students of SABAH groups participated in the international event.
Within the framework of the project “Active Volunteers - Better citizens”, the students, studying in SABAH groups of the Ministry of Education, were represented in the delegation visited Bulgaria. The project, implemented in partnership with Erasmus + and Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), was attended by active young people of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Latvia and Estonia, and representatives of youth organizations of these countries.
The purpose of the project is to increase the level of activeness of youth, to raise awareness of volunteering and to instill the values of volunteering in young people.
The trainings, based on the methodology of non-formal education within the framework of the project, covered the development trends of young people's social, communicative and language skills, as well as opportunities for activity in intercultural collaborative environment.
The presentation on the voluntary activity of students of SABAH groups in Azerbaijan was featured in the event. During the presentation, highly appreciated by the participants, more detailed information was provided for participants about the philosophy of volunteerism in our country during the Baku-2015 First European Games, as well as about "SABAH Volunteer" Program.
In the next few days, the participants took part in the meeting with Andrew Novakov, the representative of the European Parliament. During the meeting, Andrew Novakov spoke about his voluntary activity and shared his success stories with the participants. The logos were prepared and demonstrated by the participating countries within the framework of the project.
The cultural evening was also held within the framework of the event. During the cultural evening, the Azerbaijani folk dances and the most reputed dishes of Azerbaijani cuisine were demonstrated.
It should be noted that "SABAH volunteer" program plays a significant role in increasing the social activity and applying knowledge to practice, as well as developing management skills and leadership potential of students without leaving the academic training and by involving students in voluntary activity. SABAH groups have been organized from Educated, Skilled and Trained students studying at higher education institutions under the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic in order to improve the quality of education in higher education, to ensure personnel training in accordance with modern requirements and to create the new environment in the higher education system. Currently, SABAH groups cover 755 students in 39 specialties in 7 higher education institutions (Baku State University, Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Economic University, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Azerbaijan University of Languages).
